Notice from the Director of Equalization for

Charles Mix County, Lake Andes, SD  57356: 

·         They have adopted a building permit ordinance that went into effect on November 15, 2006. 

·         The building permit shall be required for any residential, agricultural, commercial or industrial structure built or moved into Charles Mix County. 

·         The building permit is also required for any remodeling, additions and other improvements or repairs made to existing residential, agricultural, commercial or industrial structures in Charles Mix County.  

·         The cost of a building permit is $5 and the application may be acquired in the Director of Equalization Office at Charles Mix County Courthouse in Lake Andes, SD or issued by mail upon request at (605)-487-7382.  The mailing address is PO Box 68, Lake Andes, SD  57356 and the application  and fee must be hand delivered or mailed before  a permit will be issued. 

·         The permit shall be valid for a period of one hundred and eighty (180) days. 

·         A permit is also required for the removal of a structure by any of the following methods: moving, burning and tearing down.  A removal permit is Free of Charge.
